Mexico is currently the 13th world economy, has 112 million inhabitants and a GDP of around 1,500 billion US dollars; it has been growing at 4% annually over the past five years.
Mexico is also one of the 15 largest producers of cement in the world. The construction industry in Mexico grew by just over 4% average in the last two years and has generated more than 5.6 million jobs; nowadays, is the 4th largest economic activity on employment generation.
Compared to 2011, private investment in the construction sector was 70% of the total in 2012 and it grew at 9.9%, while public investment was only 30% of the total amount and it grew at a lower pace of 4.6%.
According to the Economy Ministry, at the end of 2012 there were a little more than 25,000 construction private companies in the country and taking in count the public works and mining, Mexico has a tremendous business platform for those who want to participate in the Cement and Concrete sector.
